Sachin Tendulkar determines everything a man should be. Sachin proves the superiority of man over all creatures created by God. Of all the creatures created by God, man is the only one with an extraordinary argument brains. Indeed, it is only what God-endowed with the spirit and indomitable spirit. Sachin has used precisely this spirit to propel himself into the world of supremacy. He was armed with nothing but his vision. He recognized his true calling, his purpose in life and then he devoted himself fully to the cause without considering what the end result would be. And I am convinced it was this total dedication, which made Sachin what he is today. Sachin not going to impress others, it was just his dream he was chasing, it was just exactly what he most desired. His truth was his only motive. His own truth and his own work to achieve it in his own way. And only by living for himself and his dreams he could reach such a glory which is for all mankind to see and emulate.
He embodies the human spirit to the maximum. The second judges see in him what they know they can not ever achieve - and this is what makes them insecure and so they put all their efforts to bog down this man. He refused to be bogged down by mediocrity. Working tirelessly against all odds, he always believed in himself and never doubted his own ability. In his first interview (when he was just 16) he said he would like to play against the express pace bowlers in the world as the ball that much faster on the bat! He was supremely confident of his ability as a result of the incompetence of others, but because he knew of his ability to throw any and every obstacle to overcome. He just did what he should do, what to do. He never went for fame, recognition or admiration if none of this was that his hands are all in the hands of the 'fickle' crowds. So, he concentrated on his game, the matter was fully within his reach. This also helped him avoid all the noise and focus his full energy to his game.
A small matter of World Cup
That such person has the highest recognition of the sport he chose would not have been honest. 18,000 ODI runs, 14,000 Test runs, 99 centuries in both forms of the game, six World Cups, the highest run scorer in two of them, the highest overall run scorer in World Cup matches, it would almost been cruel this man denying the World Cup medal and a place in the Champions Cup history. But no, we forget that this man is the habit of writing his own destiny. He had to succeed, in fact, now that he won the Cup, it seems that it is only a matter of time before this great cricketer would have put his hands on the Cup.
Any other player would have thought of retirement after the painful defeat of 2003. Most others would certainly have left after the debacle of 2007 when he was criticized not only by the unpleasant coach, the media, the self-appointed "critics", but also some of his fans and followers. But rarely have we know that his desire for India to take to the summit was higher than the combined malice of the people above who I term as' second assessors. He decided to fight back, because there was never a moment when he doubted his own abilities, that was the case he would have left the international arena. Sachin decided to persevere and fight back and put it in the best possible way, to score tons of runs scored and he did. Immediately after that fateful WC, Sachin seemed a different route. He was more focused and determined and his wrath first fell on Australia in the CB Series, which he won for India with two superb innings of the 90s. But that was only the beginning of a long journey, a journey that only target the World Cup 2011, he knew that most likely his last chance at the cup was. Sachin and knew it was a long journey. And so began the act of self-preservation.
Today we see him play all those wonderful shots and often commented that he is extremely gifted, but we neglect the practice, the amount of work, effort and time Sachin behind each shot. The sore muscles, swollen heels and the pain he must endure in order to execute each shot to perfection is easily forgotten in the ecstasy of watching the big man to play. A day will come when the sore muscles will race against the will to win games. But let us not permit that the simple fact that Sachin was not only a great cricketer to forget, he was an ideal man, who chose to pursue his dreams and he gives his all. A man who even after reaching the summit was new benchmark, a man who believed in himself and his ability to support the whole, a man with a stubborn determination that just never gave up
